Western Union, a world-famous American corporation, has been offering its customers the money transfer service around the world for more than 150 years. Today, this is done through electronic international payments.
JSC Bank CenterCredit has been the first Kazakh bank to sign the Cooperation Agreement with Western Union.
Transfers are made without account opening by an individual. Each transfer is assigned an individual ten-digit number, which can be used to confirm the status of the money transfer sent. The maximum transfer amount is USD 7,300 or its equivalent in KZT.
International money transfers via the Western Union system are sent and paid out in USD or KZT in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
There are two types of tariffs for sending money transfers: "Urgent" and "12 hours".
Money transfer under the "12 hours" tariff can be picked up after 12 hours from the moment of sending. The maximum money transfer amount under the "12 hours" tariff" may not exceed USD 3,000. The "12 hours" tariff is used for sending money transfers from Kazakhstan to CIS countries. The "12 hours" tariff is not applied to transfers from Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan.

When making payments to legal entities, the sender, in addition to the above stated, shall provide the original document confirming the payment purpose (contract, bill, invoice, etc.), which contains the company's full name, amount, purpose of payment and account number. When receiving a Quick Cash payment, it is necessary to know the full name of a legal entity making the payment. The requirement to have an IIN for non-residents is not mandatory.

Money transfer can be picked up at any Western Union location in the destination country. The money transfer fee is charged to the sender only according to Western Union tariffs and depends on the amount sent and the country of destination. The currency of transfer payout is indicated by the sender at the moment of transfer sending. As a rule, money transfers are paid out in the currency of the destination country at the exchange rate applied in the Western Union system (in some countries payments are made in USD only/also).
In case of any issues with the money transfer payout, the sender should contact the money transfer sending location. A transfer is stored in the system for 45 days. To pick up a transfer sent more than 45 days ago, the bank should contact the Western Union Regional Operational Center.
Once a Western Union money transfer has been sent, only non-financial changes can be made to the transfer, in particular changes to the receiver's details. The Western Union system provides for the possibility of changing the receiver's country, provided that the transfer sending fee is equal to the sending fee to the new destination country. These changes are made only by the sender, free of charge, and, of course, before the transfer is paid. To make changes, the sender must know the transfer control number and provide an identity document.
Money transfer made through the Western Union system can be refunded only on the basis of the sender's application according to the procedure similar to making changes (redirecting to yourself and picking up the transfer). When refunding a transfer, the transfer fee is non-refundable. A transfer may be refunded at the initiative of Western Union together with the fee amount based on the results of compliance service verification without providing any explanations.
Transfer payout may be delayed by Western Union until additional receiver/sender information is provided.
