On 11 December 2024, results of the V Anniversary Cycle of the National Social Eco-Campaign TURAQTY JOL were presented in Almaty. The Project covered more than 20,000 people and 3,500 direct participants. As part of the campaign, over 400 contest applications were received, over 100 trees were planted, and 4 tons of waste were collected for recycling.
The event brought together leading experts in the field of ecology, sustainable development and media sphere, business and financial sector representatives, and authors of environmental startups. Discussions covered the introduction of environmental principles into educational and public practices, and further steps towards sustainable development.
The Carbonick, a winning team of the Festival of Environmental Ideas, has been one of the vivid success stories. Fatima Bakirova, a representative of the team, stated: “Thanks to TURAQTY JOL, we have started developing the Green Hydrogen Generation Project, which we managed to present at the 2024 Invention Convention China International Festival”.
Special attention is paid to the support of partners in implementing the Project. Bank CenterCredit, the Eco-Campaign’s general partner, is actively contributing to implementation of sustainable development initiatives. “Bank CenterCredit actively integrates the Principles of Sustainable Development into its operations by implementing the Climate Strategy objectives and adhering to the Responsible Lending Principles. This approach not only meets the regulator’s requirements, but also strengthens the Bank’s market positions by providing access to funding from international financial institutions. For us, this is not just compliance with modern standards, but also a significant competitive advantage, allowing us to unlock new opportunities for our customers and partners”, highlighted Arnur Ibrayev, Head of Bank CenterCredit’s Sustainable Development (ESG) Directorate.
At the end of the event, the organizers shared their plans for the next year. The Eco-Campaign plans to launch new initiatives, including the Republican Festival of the Synergy of Science and Creativity, and the Ecomedia Camp, which will help train young professionals to cover environmental issues.
