BCC is the First to Roll Out KDIF Academy-Standard Training

Bank CenterCredit has become the first bank in Kazakhstan to join the KDIF Academy, a nationwide program of the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund (KDIF) aimed at enhancing bank employees’ knowledge of the deposit insurance system. The parties have signed the Memorandum of Cooperation and have launched the pilot project.

As part of the pilot project, branch managers, call center specialists, and customer support staff, i.e. employees who directly interact with depositors, will complete training and certification under the KDIF Academy Certified standard. The program includes an online course, in-person training sessions, and final testing. The pilot will be completed by the end of 2026.

“For us, participation in the KDIF Academy is an investment in the quality of our customer service. An employee who has a deep understanding of the deposit insurance system can confidently and accurately respond to depositors’ questions, thereby strengthening trust both in the Bank and the financial system as a whole. It is important for us to be among the first to set a new standard for training professionals in deposit protection in Kazakhstan,” comments Yelena Voronova, Executive Director, JSC Bank CenterCredit HR Center.

According to the 2024 study by KDIF, one in three depositors (35% of 4,000 respondents) cites a bank manager as the primary source of information about the deposit insurance system. This highlights the level of training of banking professionals as a key factor influencing trust in the financial system.

“In the digital era, depositors’ trust is largely shaped by the quality of information they receive from banks. It is the well-trained frontline staff who can promptly alleviate concerns, clearly explain the deposit insurance mechanism, and strengthen customer confidence. KDIF Academy transforms trust in the system from an abstract concept into a practical professional skill for banking specialists,” notes Adil Utembayev, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund.

KDIF Academy covers the key aspects of the deposit insurance system, including insured and uninsured products, compensation limit calculations, payout procedures, signs of a troubled bank, and crisis management communications. The experience gained from the pilot project with BCC will serve as the foundation for scaling up the program: starting from 2027, KDIF plans to gradually onboard all participating banks in the system.
