Bank CenterCredit has received the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) Trade Facilitation Programme Award in the category “2025 Most Active Issuing Bank in Kazakhstan” during the 35th EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum held in Riga.
The winner in this category is determined based on the number of guarantee transactions executed under the TFP programme. This signifies that Bank CenterCredit delivered the highest volume of trade finance transactions among participating banks in Kazakhstan, including the issuance of documentary letters of credit, payment guarantees, and other instruments that secure customers’ international trade transactions.
“This award is a testament to the trust placed in us by international financial institutions and to our team’s tangible contribution to developing our customers’ foreign trade business. We will continue to expand our trade finance instruments to enable Kazakhstani businesses to engage confidently with international partners and realize their full potential in global markets,” said Nurlan Shegebaev, Vice President at Bank CenterCredit.
The EBRD Trade Facilitation Programme mitigates risks for Kazakhstani businesses when working with foreign counterparties: the EBRD assumes both commercial and political non-payment risk by issuing guarantees to international confirming banks. This enables entrepreneurs to execute export and import transactions on more favorable terms and access markets that would otherwise be difficult to enter without such support.
Bank CenterCredit is steadily expanding its product offerings for international business activity, including solutions for cross-border payments and trade finance, serving as a bridge between Kazakhstani businesses and their foreign partners.
