The first-of-its-kind library in Central Asia dedicated to the works of Nobel Prize laureates was opened in Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. This unique Project was implemented with the support of Bank CenterCredit, the Reinventing Bretton Woods Foundation and the corporate Nobel Fest.
The library’s collection has 2,500 books, manuscripts and archival materials provided by the world’s leading scientists. The Project aims to promote science, education and create a space for free exchange of knowledge and ideas.
“This library will be an intellectual, educational and research center accessed collectively by scientists, PhD students from all over Central Asia on the model of Harvard, Stanford and Cambridge libraries that contribute to the development of science and culture not only in their home countries, but also globally”, - highlighted Bolat Tlep, Rector of Abai KazNPU.
“Opening of the Bretton Woods Foundation Library at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University is a significant step for the development of science and education in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Bank CenterCredit is honored to be part of such a high-impact project. We believe that this library will be an inspiration for students, teachers and young scientists, providing access to unique world-class works and creating a space for exchange of knowledge and ideas,” stated Nurkanat Ongarov, Director of Almaty City Branch, Bank CenterCredit.
The library will be the first Anglo-French platform in Central Asia to showcase the works of Nobel laureates, world’s top scientists and researchers.
