“In recent years, sustainable development issues have become key issues in the global economy. Implementation of ESG principles is not only our contribution to the future of society and the environment, but also a strategic necessity for every company striving for long-term and successful development,” noted Nurlan Shegebayev.
Arnur Ibraev, Director of Sustainable Development at Bank CenterCredit, also provided a detailed overview of the key results of the ESG transformation of JSC Bank CenterCredit, including the first climate strategy among Central Asian banks, the bank’s inaugural sustainable development report, and a high ESG rating from the international agency S&P Global CSA. In addition, upcoming changes related to sustainable development and their impact on working with customers and partners were highlighted, as well as the importance of meeting the new expectations of the financial sector in the context of ESG.
«Our Company was delighted to participate in the workshop by sharing our ESG achievements. We believe that organizing such events highlighting the importance of ESG agenda for businesses is a great initiative as it enhances ESG maturity and allows sharing our own experiences and latest trends in sustainability. Companies can use the knowledge gained to prepare for future ESG requirements and expectations of the financial sector», - shared his opinion Timur Mursalimov, Head of ESG Department of JSC AK Altynalmas. Being one of the largest gold mining companies in Kazakhstan, JSC “AK Altynalmas” actively implements best practices in the field of environmental protection, social responsibility and corporate governance.
Experts from EY, who contributed to the development of Bank CenterCredit's climate strategy, presented an overview of global and Kazakhstani ESG trends. They addressed ESG risk management, sustainable finance, and discussed the importance of non-financial disclosure and obtaining ESG ratings—key factors for companies striving to meet modern standards.
"As a representative of Ecolean Kazakhstan, a company producing recyclable packaging and actively supporting sustainability initiatives, I was very interested in attending the seminar. As customers of Bank CenterCredit, we appreciate the bank's efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable business. It is particularly encouraging to see the bank taking real steps in this direction. We look forward to learning more about future initiatives that can support the development of this area and understanding the benefits it can bring to our company," a representative of Ecolean Kazakhstan shared her impressions about the seminar.

Bank CenterCredit warns about calls from unknown persons (in most cases, voice bots) posing as bank employees. They inform that you have an overdue loan debt, and that the debt has been transferred to a collection agency. Such calls are received even by those Kazakhstani citizens who do not have an existing loan.
A few days later, a second call is received from another phone number, purporting to be from a collection agency that has been assigned a loan from the Bank. At this stage, scammers try to extort money or obtain personal data in several ways.
How to protect yourself from fraud:
Never share your personal data with anyone: full bank card number, PIN, expiration date, login and password to sign in to your personal area in the mobile app, SMS codes to confirm transactions, etc.
If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact Bank CenterCredit at 505 (free to call from mobile phone) to get official information. This is the most reliable way to avoid fraud.
